What Does a Session Feel Like?

For small or flat lesions, no numbing is required. For larger, thicker, or multiple lesions in a single session, topical numbing cream can be applied 30 minutes before treatment on request. What Happens After Treatment?
Immediately after treatment, each lesion will appear slightly darker or more raised. This is expected and indicates the laser has activated the coagulation process. Over the next 3 to 7 days, the lesion forms a dry crust. This crust naturally detaches and flakes off within 1 to 3 weeks, revealing clear skin underneath. This is a natural skin process and does not indicate that treatment has failed. Many patients return for a simple maintenance session once or twice per year to clear any new growths as they appear. Preparing for Your Appointment
Before your session, avoid sun exposure and self-tanner on the treatment area for 4 weeks. Do not apply retinol, AHA/BHA, or other actives for 5 to 7 days before treatment. Arrive with clean, product-free skin on the day of your appointment. Disclose all medications, particularly photosensitizing drugs (such as doxycycline or tretinoin) and any history of keloid scarring.
