Comprehensive Skin Lesion Treatment in Montreal at Reimagine Clinic
Benign skin lesions are growths that, although often not aesthetically pleasing, generally pose no serious health risk. These can occasionally cause discomfort due to itching, burning, or stinging, and in some cases, they may lead to malignant changes. Therefore, it’s essential to consult with a professional for skin lesion diagnosis and treatment.
Treatment Option for Skin Lesions at Reimagine Clinic
When a patient wishes to have a skin lesion removed due to discomfort or cosmetic reasons, we offer several treatments:
- Cryosurgery, freezing with liquid nitrogen
The type of treatment depends on the specific characteristics of the lesion, its location, and the patient’s overall health condition.
Why Consult an Esthetician at Reimagine Clinic?
As benign skin lesions can be hard to differentiate from each other or from a serious disorder, it’s wise to consult with an experienced esthetician. At Reimagine Clinic, our highly trained estheticians can perform a thorough skin assessment, and if necessary, a definitive skin biopsy can be performed.

Understanding Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a trusted method for the removal of skin lesions in dermatology and aesthetic practices. It involves the controlled destruction of unwanted skin growth through the application of extreme cold, effectively eliminating unwanted blemishes with minimal discomfort or side effects.
Why Choose Cryotherapy Skin Lesion Treatment?
CryoProbe XP emit high-pressure N2O gas (-89 °C) that rapidly and precisely freezes the affected area, without damaging surrounding healthy tissue. As a result, the lesion cells’ water freezes rapidly, expands, and ruptures the cell membrane. The lesion is then naturally eliminated from the skin’s surface, until healing is completed within a couple of weeks.
Why choose CryoProbe XP? They offer the most stress-free option for smooth and quick cryotherapy treatments of all benign skin lesions:
- Fast
- Safe
- Precise
- Comfortable
- No anesthesia
- No downtime
- No scars

Treatment
The cryoprobe is a device used in cryotherapy treatment for skin lesions. Cryotherapy, also known as cryosurgery, is a non-invasive procedure where extremely cold temperatures are applied to destroy abnormal or diseased tissue.
Healing
The healing time following a cryotherapy treatment largely depends on the size and type of the skin lesion, as well as the individual patient's overall health condition. However, on average, the treated area generally heals within 1 to 2 weeks for smaller, superficial lesions. Larger or deeper lesions may take a few weeks longer, possibly up to 4-6 weeks, to completely heal. Immediately after the treatment, the lesion usually forms a scab, which will fall off naturally as the skin underneath heals and regrows. During the healing process, it's crucial to avoid picking or scratching the area, keep the site clean to prevent infection, and protect it from sun exposure to minimize potential for skin discoloration. Remember, these are general guidelines, and individual experiences may vary. Always follow the specific aftercare instructions provided by your healthcare provider or esthetician.
